First Baptist Church Antlers Ok. is an exciting and growing church with a mission. This caring Church family of believers has a burden for people and has a long range plan and goal. This is a result of God's soverign choice to bless First Baptist Church.
Bro. Aaron Reed came to Antlers in November of 2005 as Senior Pastor of the church.
Bro. Aaron was raised in Texas His parents Hershel Reed his father who is also a Baptist Pastor and Wilma Reed his mother raised Bro. Aaron up in a great Christian enviroment at home as well as in the church.
In July of 1989 in Olney Texas under the preaching of Mike Wallace Bro. Mike preached a sermon titled do you know that you know that you know? Bro. Aaron realized even though he had been taught all the right things growing up all he had was head knowledge that day in 1989 Bro. Aaron asked Jesus into his heart and that day for the first time he had heart knowledge about Jesus.
Bro. Aaron and Vonda was married in 1973 They have two grown sons who are married and now are raising bro. Aaron and Vonda's pride and joy's. the grandchildren. Molly who belongs to David and Tammy, and Hannah and Hayden who belong to Scott and Kanda.
Before coming to FBC Antlers Bro. Aaron pastored in west Texas. FBC Amherst Texas, FBC Hart Texas, FBC Bovina Texas.
Since Bro. Aaron came to FBC Antlers Ok. as pastor God has continued to bless and the church has had a steady growth in numbers,but most importantly it has grown spiritually. All of the wonderful things that have happened in the last couple of years is a miracle and all honor and praise goes to our Heavenly Father without Him nothing would be possible.
Doug Troxell - Music/Educational Minister
Email DougI was born in July of 1952. born again in July of 1961. Paula and I married in February of 1972. We have three children, two daughters and one son. They are all married and have children of their own.
The Lord called me to special service in 1964 but it wasn't until 1970 that I accepted my first position as Church Music Director. From 1975 to 1990 I was bivocational and worked as a Compressor Mechanic for Phillips Petroleum Company. After leaving Phillips I remained bivocational until 1996 when I became a full-time Church Music Director once again.
I graduated High School from Odessa High in 1970 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Music degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The music skills God has allowed me to learn have always been used for Kingdom work.
God has blessed my family and me tremendously and we are so thankful He has lead us to serve at First Baptist Church of Antlers. We serve a great congregation and look forward to many blessed years.
I become FBC Antlers youth minister in December of 08. I was a graduate of Antlers High School and has lived in Antlers for 14 years. Julie and I have been married for 12 years and are the parents of Brittany 18 years old, which will graduate in May of 09. Lauren is 7 years old and attends Anlters elementary. I have been mentored and have always looked up to his grandparents Ed and Laverne Harper , which are long time members of First Baptist Church of Antlers.
My interest are hunting and trapping wild game. I enjoy my family and my garden. I am an avid OU sports and Bearcats fan. I enjoy loud Christian music. All types I just like it LOUD!!!!!
I surrendered to ministry at Summit Summer Camp in 2007 and knew it was in youth ministry. God opened the door this past December as our Youth ministry resigned and my church gave me this opportunity to step up and surrendered all to serve HIM and in whatever direction HE wants me to go. I believe in the full Gospel of Jesus Christ and if "Saved" always saved. I believe everything in the BIBLE and my family are a living proof.
Through Christ, I hope to provide a Christian family atmosphere and provide a place appealing to youth and they will want to come and learn.

Vonda became the church secretary/church clerk January 06. Vonda became a christian in Aug. 1988. For several years she believed she had made a profession of faith at the age of 10 and as life progressed she came to realize that she had never made Jesus Lord and Savior in her life. She and Aaron began their walk with the Lord and along with their children became very active in their home church Southside Baptist in Olney, Tx. After a few years God began calling them into the full time ministry. They went into full time ministry in July of 1996. She is married to Aaron Reed, the Pastor of First Baptist Church Antlers. They will be married 35 years come this August. They have 2 grown sons, David who is married to Tammy and have a beautiful little girl Molly (3) that we are crazy about. David is in Sports Medicine in the school system in Saginaw, Tx. Tammy is also a teacher in the middle school system. They will be married 10 years. Scott is our youngest and married to Kanda who have Hannah (6) and Hayden(3) . Scott is full time Music and Youth Minister at FBC Clayton, Ok. God called Aaron and Vonda to Antlers November 05 and we have been enjoying our ministry here. Vonda feels like God has called her to minister in her job as the secretary. This is not just a job for her but a wonderful ministry. Some of her hobbies or special interest are cake decorating , women's bible studies and being involved in her grandchildren lives.
